Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate your help. >
Another project I had in mind was converting my 'premium audio system'> in my LeBaron to the Infinity system. It seems like I would need to> re-wire each speaker .... plus I'll need to find an Infinity head,> too. Any experience doing such a project like this?

My 1990 LeBaron Convertable HAD the Infinity system but some
doof of a previous owner replaced the head unit with a cheap
CD player and tossed the fancy speakers for some junky ones that
have really large magnets. He cut the wires off the 4-wire
plugs and connected the new speakers to the speaker + wires
and the power ground wires for the speaker's amps. It sorta worked...

I got some "premium" MoPar speakers out of another convert
at a junkyard and soldered and shrink tubed everything he'd
just twisted and taped together. Now it sounds pretty decent,
especially with the speakers connected to the proper wires.

Fortunately he did not cut the factory plugs off the harness,
but cut them off the head unit and connected the CD player
to the radio's plugs. The same yard has an Infinity sedan
with the Infinity stereo system, including speakers, but
it has a tape and no CD in the head unit. Some nut cut the
wires on one door speaker so I'd have to find out what to
solder back together. I kept the four wire speaker halves
of the plugs that the doof connected to his "super" speakers.

Speaking of speakers, would there be any behind the two dash
grilles with the Infinity system? A couple of the converts
in the yard have had those grilles yanked off and it's obvious
they are for speakers but there's just cardboard blanks screwed
in.
