Just read Mercedes is now the brand that has seen profits plummet while
the Chrysler end made 10x the profit of the Mercedes nameplate, with
the hot selling Chrysler 300 etc. How times change...

I'm still upset about Chrysler selling out to Daimler. I can't believe the
stockholders bought into it...after all the failed mergers out there too!

I do wonder how long the 300 will remain stylish and hot. PTCruiser was hot
too once.

It will remain hot until everyone that wants ones gets one, then the sales
will trail off.

I'm still waiting for the Suburban ^H Hummer H2 to stop being "stylish"

If you go down to your Chrysler dealership, they'll tell you how they
now have "Mercedes technology" in the new models.

I've also recently read some complaints about Mercedes quality
declining.

Apparently, they're putting Chrysler technology in Mercedes now.

Don't tell my Sebring I posted this.

Some suspension components and the crappy wiper stick has been incorporated
into some new Chrylsers.

And had a nice long run, and still sells "OK." If the 300 exactly
matches the PT's sales curve, it will be an unmitigated success. Nothing
stays top-of-the-market for decades except a few bland, generic,
rental-fleet people-movers like Camry and Taurus.

Blame the dollar/euro exchange rate.

I bet there are a couple of companies out there that would love to make a
bland car that sells like the Camry.

I hate those combination "sticks".
