So, you want to fix one gasketed, bolted joint, by adding MORE bolted, > gasketed joints to fail.

 Daniel is a book worm, everything from the books, its a different world out
there once you get your hands dirty to really see what is going on, but he

Ahh...My mistake. I had forgotten that the top main shells are grooved.
The location of the oil hole should have been the tip off....
It's been years since I had a small block apart.
