| New Car ? DrLargePants 06:17:29 |
| | OK, my mileage has dropped massively and a JTD is no longer cost effective for me. Thinking of getting a 156 2.0 JTS, but I'm a bit confused about the trim levels.
What's the difference between Veloce 1 & 2 ? Also is it only the Veloces that have the side skirts ? Which ones have the wooden steering wheel ?
Performance wise, how would a 2.0 JTS compare to say a Vag 1.8 20vt in a Leon/Octavia ?
Thanks!
Sean

| Black stuff Steve Byatt 22:37:26 |
| | OK... I want no lectures about how I should have done my research before buying a car with dimply black stuff, and I don't want anyone ranting at me when I go on to mention that our nearest Halfords is 25 miles away (and no doubt someone will even check the locations of all Halfords shops in the West Midlands)... no,no,no. What I am after is just some simple advice. Has anyone found a good (and easy) way of cleaning the dimply black stuff on the dashboard and non-leather bits of the doors? What about that "Back to Black" stuff? Is it any good? (My nearest Halfords ... or carbits shop of any kind for that matter, is 25 miles away so, before I make the journey I wouldn't mind an informed recommendation). (Even though I can do Halfords in 23 minutes if I avoid the "rush hour"!)
Ta Steve 156 GTA, with dimply black stuff. And quite a lot of mud.

| 156 Aluminium Undertrays Mr Flipflops 22:12:08 |
| | Hey Guys
I'm sick of my plastic tray sagging, dragging and all those other things. So, I want to get myself one of those aluminium ones. As far as I know there are 2 metal pillars either side which are subject to corrosion, but are required for a secure fastening... how much do these parts cost, and do they need to be painted or are they pre-treated?
Another question is, I see on the manufacturer website there are 2 part numbers for the V6 156. One for the automatic, and one for the 2.5 and GTA. I'm a little confused about that, as one of the dealers listed has the GTA down as 25 euros extra, which seems odd if it's the same part...
Thanks!
Rgds

| New Alpha Romeo Spider owner.. quick question plz... Cableguy 13:14:28 |
| | Hello All.. New to the group and had a quick question to somebody who owns an Alpha Romeo.. Last week I bought an 87 Alpha Romeo Spider with 39k miles on it, great car and I'm enjoying myself driving around with the top down. the question I have is what's the top speed on these cars? I get it to 80 or 90 mph with little problem, but doesn't want to go much faster. my other car is Benz c230 Kompressor and I can go 130 mph before I feel I have to slow down. not that I'm out to break any record or anything, just it seem slower than I thought it would be.

| Anyone tried an air induction kit on a 156? John 18:45:30 |
| | I`m not a boy racer, honest, but.............
I have a 5 year old 2.0 156 and I am considering fitting either a K&N or a BMC air induction kit. Both manufacturers make some pretty bold claims about BHP increases on there websites but would like to hear from owners who may have done for themselves.
Cheers

"Our sources say Alfa Romeo is set to unveil an all-new small model at the Paris Motor Show in October. It will preview a future production car based on Fiat Grande Punto underpinnings, and our exclusive image shows what's in store for the front-wheel-drive hatch."
interessante il ricordo dell'alfasud originale: "Despite being the first small family car to bring outstanding handling to the masses, the original marked the end of an era for Alfa purists.
