| New transmission in TL Ron Jones 04:21:18 |
| | Well I got my 2000 TL back from Acura today. With 87k miles on it they put a new (remanufactured) transmission, fuel regulator, PCM (computer), and front engine mount. I had to pay for the latter. I also had to pay for a new seatbelt that had a bad buckle switch that caused the SRS light to stay on. BTW he told me there was a SB and extended warrantee on the passenger seat sensor and computer for the SRS (but that turned out not to be the problem).
It drives like a new car! The general roughness I was experiencing was obviously the transmission. He claimed the remanufactured transmissions have all new guts. It seems to have extra parts attached to the top compared to the old one so hopefully there were some changes made to the design to fix the problems.

| Help! 1992 integra seat belt warning hell! Joshdavis77 04:44:44 |
| | If someone could help, I would be most grateful.
The seat belt warning beep that is supposed to last for 6 seconds when you start the car has gone haywire. It does it's 6 second thing, and then starts beeping a little bit faster until I turn the car off. The seat belt light stays lit and even tho the seat belts are securely fastened. I checked the manual and the fuse box and there wasn't anything relating to the seat belt beeper.
I would really like to get this fixed as the car is pretty much undrivable at this point, it is not a quiet noise.
Thanks
Josh

| Replacement Tires for 2004 TL Russell Lombardo 22:38:21 |
| | My 2004 TL is nearing the need for replacement tires, even though Acura replaced the original Turanzas at about 5000 miles; the car has about 19,000 miles currently. Those Bridgestone Turanzas are just terrible tires.
I would be grateful for any suggestions on replacement tires. All my other cars have Michelins. They include my beloved 1997 Acura NSX, my wife's PT Cruiser, and our dog's Nissan Pathfinder (we keep it to transport him). I have had good luck with Michelins. Unfortunately, there are so many types of Michelins, I have to go to Tire Rack just to do a comparison.
We live in Santa Barbara, CA where the weather is mild year round, so winter driving is not a concern.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
- Russ

| Wide Price Difference James 05:40:36 |
| | Does any know how if there is a reason for this...The suggested price for the RSX-S in the States is listed at $23 845US before freight tax, etc. This equals $27 117 Canadian.
If you go to the Canadian acura website, the price is listed at $33 400 before taxes etc...Which equals $29 390US... Why would the exact same car cost so much more to buy in Canada? You can't tell me it costs acura an extra $7 000 to ship the car into Canada...
Anyone have any idea on what the reason is?

I've planned on adding one to an UNUSED fuse slot that's hot on ACC, and I just found out to my dismay the unused ones are all hot on either Position 1 or cranking.

| | having had the 1st gen Legend coupe, and now with the 2nd gen Legend coupe, i concur.
I can imagine its a marketing thing, people would say,"...I can get a Lexus with a V8 instead of a V6 Acura". But if Honda can pull off a torquey and efficient 8, good on them. It would have to be an option cause the timing is not good with gas prices nowadays, or forever. And they even have more reason to, Toyo/Lex just came out with their hybrid GS.

| Very good experience dealing with Bonnie Ericsson at Los Gatos Acura,
CA John Horner 21:14:39 |
| | Last night we picked up our new TSX w/Navi. We got the Glacier Blue Metallic with gray leather interior. Personally I think it is the best color combination on the TSX .
We have the earlier generation Navigation system on a 2003 Accord and this generation is even better. I also love the Bluetooth integration which works perfectly with my Verizon Razr phone. Way cool stuff!
I went in to see Bonnie several times and she was always helpful and never pushy. I'm happy with the price paid and the professionalism we were treated with by everyone there.
So far I haven't visited the service department, and I sure hope not to spend much time at it .

| 2000 TL - Front Motor Mount Bad? Sam 18:41:43 |
| | I just had the trany fluid changed on my 2000 TL with 46,200 mile. I do this about once a year as I know that these transmissions have had their share of problems. I had this done a an independent shop that specializes on Honda's. They told me that the front engine mount was bad, and needed replacement. I've noticed that other people seem to have had this problem when they had their transmission's replaced. Does anyone know if this is a common problem with these cars? Fortunately I still have a warrenty on this car so it should be a cover repair. ( I Hope) .

joon Personally I think the sweet spot for buying a model is in year 3 of production, but I value a low annoyance factor highly! I don't care which company is building the car, the first year is always more trouble prone than later years.

| Acura Longevity Kevin Miller 15:51:14 |
| | Hi,
I'm looking at buying a used Acura, probably an EL or an RSX. Right now I have a corolla that has 270,000 km's on it and it is still running well.. my question is can I expect the same type of results out of an Acura? How many Km's does your acura have on it, and what type of problems have you experienced?
Thanks.

| Integra - Coolant issues and questions... Synergy 09:37:35 |
| | I have an Integra 94 and live in Los Angeles area. When I was on vacation, I let my nephew used it for a few weeks. On my return, he told me that the radiator had developed a leak, but he had been refilling it using just water (not coolant). The car was running fine and no overheating was observed (other than losing about 1/2 Qt of coolant every 50 miles). My question is what exactly does the coolant do, other than keeping the boiling point higher than water and freezing point lower (hence the anti-freeze function)? Does it also prevent the engine from rusting? I have heard that Integra has an aluminium engine. What does the coolant do in this case? Would a few weeks running with greatly diluted coolant harm the engine?
Thanks. Need to know
