Transmission Leak monkichi 19:00:38 |
| | I just recently got my oil changed and was told my transmission was leaking. I don't know much about cars. Where is the transmission cap to put transmission fluid? What are my possible options to fix the leak? Is there a way to do it yourself to fix the problem? |

| Replacing Passenger Side Wiber Blade Refill Kevin 17:30:22 |
| | 2003 Acure TL (not the "S"). What is the trick to get access to the passenger side wiper arm such that I can remove and replace the wiper blade refill? I know how to get the blade refill out, once I can get the blade arm positioned to get access to the refill, but I don't know what to do to get access to the blade arm (it won't easily bend forward for access like the driver's side does).
Thanks

| 2004 TL Trunk Lid Liner removal Guest 05:33:18 |
| | I have difficulty seeing out the back of the TL so I bought a VR3 Back-up camera system. The camera is mounted on the license frame. A wire needs to pass into the car. I can drill a hole near the license lights.
To reach the wire I need to remove the liner on the inside of the trunk lid. Any ideas on how to do this without damaging it?
Thanks Ed Tee

| Difference with premium gas! Ron Jones 20:00:24 |
| | I've got a 96 Integra SE and have always used regular gas. My daughter likes to put Shell super in it and I told her she was wasting her money. However I drove it afterward and it seems smoother, peppier and even quieter on the super!
It's got 135k on it maybe its carboned up and has higher compression now. What do you think?

| | I just bought my TL two weeks ago and LOVE IT! It's all that was advertised; the technology is fantastic and it drives great!
One question though... What does anyone use to clean the front grille? It seems like the material 'stains' easily and wiping it down with auto detergent and water just smears it. I've heard that baby wipes work?! What does everyone use?

More questions.
1. Is it difficult to remove and replace the trim panel/cover on the left?
2. Would it be doable/wise to fit some rubber grommets to shock and vibration-isolate the main relay assembly?
And once again, thanks for the tips.

Sounds though like the removal mite be a reach for me & he says he>> will not REMOVE from my Acura.>> It's easy.>1) Remove top cover (remove screws at bottom, play with wheel tilt until >covers come off)>2) Turn key to "I">3) Remove tiny set-screw from bottom of lock body>4) Push in tiny pin on TOP of lock body>5) While pushing pin down, pull lock out of body.> You can start your car with a small flat-blade screwdriver until you get >your lock back. Thanks everyone!!! TeGGeR makes it sounds straightforward so I think I will go for it over the long weekend.

If you think the majority of TL owners are pumping Premium gas into their cars these days, you're not paying attention at the pumps. Premium gas sales are WAY down. And then there's the cheating that goes on at gas stations where that 93 octane pump doesn't actually dispense 93 octane gas. Like the Accord, the TL will run OK on 87 octane. I haven't seen any reports of engine problems due to detonation for the TL or any other car not used for racing. A service record for the car is another matter entirely.

Their advice is sound. You can buy a decent used engine at a > reasonable > > price. I've been told I can get an engine for > $500 Cdn. > anybody have a great online autoparts dealer? dont do that i have integra civic and preludes... my prelude did that and i drove it untill it blew... is the engine knocking if yes thats bad that the pistion hitting the valve check your oil and oil light. if you dont keep on feeding it oil it will blow. if the engine blows it might crack the block and then you will have yo buy a new engine this way you can rebuild your exhisting engine this will save you 1000 also double check your oil pan plug and be sure its not leaking this is what may have caused the problem in the fist place. watch the temp gauage if it ever goes past half stop your engine (turn the car off) used engine are cheep and almost any honda engine will fit you can get a used b18b/a 145hp 90-93/04-01 integra for $300 for example good luck and be smart... sell the car befor it pops if you want to a snake and/or spend no money.

| Adding After Factory radio in my 93 Legend with Bose System Gil 10:15:02 |
| | Has anyone installed an after factory radio on a Legend with the bose system? I'm being told that the speakers will also need to be replaced because they have a built in amp that only works with the factory radio.
I would like to replace just the radio, with a radio that plays MP3s and keep my existing speakers.
Any help would be appreciated. Gil

| How to turn off A/C when on defog. Mike 23:00:12 |
| | Does anyone know how to do this on a 2002 1.7 EL?
I tried the civic method but I couldn't get it to work. What I was doing was hold the A/C button and the air circulation button together start the car then hold them for 10 seconds then let go. But it doesn't seem to work. Is it different for the EL?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| 1990 Acura Legend transmission won't start in low gear when cold Doug 22:21:23 |
| | A friend is offering a 1990 Acura Legend L with 95K miles for a very low price, but the transmission doesn't start in Low gear when it is cold.
They have been shifting it manually until the car warms up and then it shifts normally until it cools down again.
Two garages have given an opinion on it: One suggested rebuilding the transmission. The other thought it might be an electronic control problem. One of the garages advised against changing the fluid. That seems strange to me; it's the first thing I would do..
They have been driving it in the summer only for the last 3 years this way and it hasn't changed. Other than the shift behavior when it is cold, the engine and transmission perform as expected.
This car is a summer car used in the midwest, although it spent most of its life in the SW and has probably never seen really cold weather, but plenty of high temps.
It probably hasn't had the fluid changed for at least the last 30K miles and maybe not even then.
Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions you have, Doug
