| lexus 400h Jim 03:55:53 |
| | I purchased a Lexus 400h with all the bells and whistles in January. The epa sticker claimed 33-28. We all know that not accurate but 23.!! In fact checking by the old manual method it obtained only 21.66. Admittaly the first few tanks gave 26.8. Auto now has 8000 miles.
The biggest disapointment is the GPS. One has to know where they are going. If one follows the voice direction there is no telling where you woulds end up. Often the voice directions are turn left, when one must turn right. Another problem when on a ring road around a city one is directed to turn at every exit. Destination address is in the city but about 30 exits farther down the interstate.
Any suggestions are appreciated
Thanks Jim

The RL has> a 3.5 liter engine, is all wheel drive and weighs over 4000 pounds> -- again, nothing like the Honda Euro you're driving. Also, you're> driving over 2x as far as I do each way to work.
I have a 2006 that I use about 50/50 for city/highway. I get almost exactly what Honda states, maybe a little less as I'm a little heavy on the pedal. The killer for me (I was trading out of an SUV to save money on gas) is that it requires premium gas.

| questions re: 2003 CL Type S Skip 07:46:10 |
| | I have a 2003 Acura Cl Type S. I really love it. I have a few questions:
The cigarette lighter power receptacle below the radio has become loose. The socket pulls out partially when I pull out the plug. How do you gain access the rear to check on the "nut" that secures the socket? What does it look like?
Anyone have any problems with a change in dimness on the "D5" on the dashboard?
When do the '07 TL's come out? Any word on anything new? HD radio maybe?
Thanks in advance, Skip

| [1994 GS-R] Antenna Stays Up Pb 17:51:05 |
| | I have the subject auto and the power antenna stays up all the time. I do hear the motor "whir" for several seconds but there is no movement of the antenna mast.
Is it difficult to remove the necessary trim to access the antenna motor?
Is the running motor a good sign and only the antenna needs to be replaced?
What do I need to know to proceed with this repair?
I followed TeGGeR's links and discovered the motor was ~$240USD, so I want to avoid that amount if possible.
How much would the dealer charge to perform the installation on top of the part?
Thanks in advance,
PB

| Click/Clunk fixed on our 2006 TSX today John Horner 00:19:02 |
| | Had a strange noise and vibration in the steering wheel only when applying and releasing the brakes at low (like walking) speeds. Luckily the dealer tech reproduce the problem and agreed it shouldn't be there. He finally discovered that one of the front sub frame bolts was not properly torqued down. 1/4 turn of his wrench and the problem was fixed.
I have no idea if this is common or not, but wanted to post it in case anyone else has the same issue.

| mixed tires for 03 TLS Guest 02:23:33 |
| | Hi All
I bought a certified 03 TLS 3 months ago. The car came with new Michelin MxM4 on front and same tires with 26k miles on rear. I recently noticed a sidewall bubble on rear passenger. I called the dealer and they said its not covered under acura warranty, I should talk to michelin.
I have to change this tire, and I would rather replace both rear tires. The question is which ones to go for. MXM4 are 200$s each and have very poor reviews. So far Yokohama Avid A4 seems to be a popular choice for this car. But I also read that they don't last too long (just about 20-25k miles). Does any one have a comment on that? I never push my car too hard, but I do like sportiness.
My next question is will it be OK to mix tires? Say 2 MXM4 and 2 Yokos?
Thanks Uday

| What would it take for you to buy a new Acura TL Boe 18:53:52 |
| | One would think Acura would post such a question/poll on their own website.
I test drove the 2006 TL and like it much more than my 2001. I have been reading other forums and found others have some of the same hopes that I do for future models before we make the investment in a new car.
I thought the three things that would be required for me to replace my current car are - 1. Better noise insulation (even the 2006 isn't quiet enough - not talking about handling or stiffness etc, the BMW has a fun tight ride but is much quieter on the inside) 2. Better gas mileage - probably will have to wait for the 2009 hybrid TL (fine with me then it will have the new lithium batteries for significantly improved performance) - and yes I know there is no money to be saved currently with hybrids) 3. Better voice activation for the NAVI - I can do a hell of a lot with voice command on my phone - should be able to just say 2100 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA and it should pull up directions.
This is such a tiny thing but I would actually wait another year for just this feature - Not sure if it would be a deal breaker for me but I REALLY want this feature [url]http://www.autospies.com/article/index.asp?articleId=7827&categoryId=21[/ur- - l]
I would like the rear view camera - but it isn't a deal breaker although I would buy it as an option!
I would also like more REAR leg room. I'd give up trunk space as I have more passengers than luggage.
I would love for the NAVI to pull contacts from my PDA phone so that I wouldn't have to reenter any info and then I could just say a contacts name and it would pull up the address.
