| | I recently purchased the Jeep with 40k miles. After the 1st snow driving out of the garage (I always back in), I discovered that the front brakes were locked when applied, but I was still being moved into the icy driveway from the rear wheels still in the dry garage. In other words, the rear brakes are not working. Because of the age and low mileage, I took the Jeep to a brake shop, had sticky wheel cylinders and shoes replaced, along with having the drums turned.(Plenty of metal left on the drums). The rear brakes are still not working as any reasonable person would expect, still pushing the front end into any icy situation.
Since the original post, I have replaced the master cylinder and proportioning valve, and checked the fluid pressures at the master cylinder (1200 lbs), and after the proportioning valve (650 lbs) and at the rear brakes (650 lbs). this was for the rear brakes only, since the front work fine. What is the fluid pressure supposed to be after the proportioning valve for the rear brakes?
Any suggestions or experience from anyone? |

| | My CRV 1997 is leaking under the dashboard on the riders side in the front. I have had the glass checked (that's not the problem)..it is not leaking anywhere else. It only leaks when I get the car washed or it rains..or a water holes is put on it. Can anyone please tell me what is the problem with this car leaking, and is there anybody else having this problem. Does anybody know what could possibly be the reason for it leaking where it is?
