Tranny Cooler

Trail Shredder 18 April 2005 19:08:39
Going to be installing a tranny cooler (B&M) in my 99 1500 burban. Was
planning on routing the fluid from the return to tranny side (cool side),
through the new cooler. Not sure if that is the top line or bottom line
coming out of the radiator though. Anyone know for sure? Going to get it
warmed and give it the hand test. I have been told that will be a sure way
of telling. Any suggestions?

Some guess work there, see if you can borrow a non contact thermometer and
check temps that way.

On my '99 Yukon the fluid comes out the top hose. I couldn't tell by feel,
but I could when I disconnected the hose and started the engine! Man, that
stuff comes out fast!

I will be replacing the tranny radiator on a 94 Subi Legacy tomorrow.
Are there any procedures to be followed? When I connect the new radiator
do I have to try and bleed out air ? Do I just overfill the tranny fluid
befpore starting the engine?
