Before & After HP Results - K&N Filter Kit

 I have a Gtech Pro performance meter and decided I would take some
measurements before and after I added a K&N FIPK intake. The tests were
done two days apart on the same strech of road at about the same
temperature. This is on a 2001 S10 ZR2.

Before Install HP Measurements:

Pass HP
1 128
2 127
3 125
4 132 AVERAGE: 129 HP
5 122
6 132
7 137

After Install HP Measurements:

Pass HP
1 138
2 134
3 140
4 140 AVERAGE: 138.7 HP
5 130
6 147
7 142


Before Install 1/4 Mile Times & Trap Speeds:

Pass Time (seconds) Speed (MPH)
1 18.00 @ 75.0
2 17.97 @ 75.6
3 18.09 @ 74.9

AVERAGE 18.02 @ 75.2


After Install 1/4 Mile Times & Trap Speeds:

Pass Time (seconds) Speed (MPH)
1 17.47 @ 77.4
2 17.35 @ 78.2
3 17.36 @ 78.7

AVERAGE 17.39 @ 77.9


Before Install 0-60 MPH Times

Pass Time (seconds)
1 10.51
2 10.34 AVERAGE 10.45 Seconds
3 10.49

After Install 0-60 MPH Times

Pass Time (seconds)
1 9.70
2 9.49 AVERAGE 9.56 Seconds
3 9.49

So in short, I received around a 9.7 HP increase. I shaved .63 seconds on
the 1/4 mile time and crossed the finish line 2.7 mph faster. I also
reduced my 0-60 mph time by .89 seconds.

Not bad!! I plan on doing similar tests when I add my Borla exhaust and
Hypertech programmer in the near future.
